Proof that Zendaya Will Not Play Mary Jane or "MJ": Zendaya's Acting History

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING will be Zendaya's 1st major film. She is best known for her roles in Disney features such as Shake It Up, K.C. Undercover, and the TV movie Zapped.


On K.C. Undercover, Zendaya plays a teenaged girl growing up in a family of secret agents. Her character fights the bad guys and wears various costumes to perform undercover missions. Below is a picture of Zendaya playing the title character "K.C." with her family of spies:

If you're a hardcore fan of Zendaya, you probably already know that Zendaya is a producer on that show, in addition to being the main actress. She gets to decide on performing some of her stunts, such as when she was taking promotion pictures for the 1st season:

Zendaya is no stranger to using special equipment and green screens, so it wasn't much of a surprise that she could've landed the role of Storm in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Earlier this year, Zendaya was also the frontrunner to play Alita in ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL:

Most recently, Zendaya is reportedly going to play a trapeze artist and the love interest for Zac Efron's character in "The Greatest Showman on Earth".


What do all of these roles have in common?

• a character with a physically demanding part (must fight, or be comfortable performing circus tricks)
